Why Use BLUE-X® Tree Shelters?

BLUE-X® Tree Shelters are designed to:

• Protect seedlings, accelerate growth and maximize survival. Lower cost then other shelters.
• They are packaged flat for efficient shipping and storage. Each shelter consists of two plastic parts that can be quickly and easily assembled.

This shelter creates a beneficial microclimate inside that will:

• Increase humidity and plant growth from the effect of blue light.
• Protect the plant from deer, rabbits, rodents and chemical sprays.
• Reduce the harmful effects of UV light and maintain higher CO2 levels.

Why Blue Light?

BLUE-X® Plant Shelters are made from transparent blue-tinted polyester film that amplifies blue light.

• The blue-tinted film admits up to 100% more photo-synthetically active radiation (PAR) than other plant shelters.
  PAR is that part of the light spectrum most used by plants. Chlorophyll in plants manufacture most of there energy from the violet, blue and blue-green wavelengths of light.
• The amplification of usable light by BLUE-X® Plant Shelters encourages diameter growth in plants.
  No other grow-tube on the market today can make this claim!
• Field studies using BLUE-X® Plant Shelters have documented increased growth rates averaging 100-150%.
  Plants that increase stem diameter quickly will support themselves faster and are more likely to survive.
